Coss Bocanegra - Alakazam

Mexican Mauricio Olivos aka DJ and producer Coss Bocanegra is truly international having signed with labels such as Nicholas Van Orton's Balkan Connection South America, Bonzai Progressive, 3XA, Cloudy Moon Records and VESTA Records among others.

On this release Coss delivers an original track with four remixes which straddle many types of progressive with its contributions from UNIV3RSE, Ugly Cat, 116 db and Morris Tellez.

The approaching summer is definitely where the original track will take your focus. The lovely, bouncy, summer groove with lush warm pads and synths float around the track from the very start.

The UNIV3RSE mix may be second on the EP but it takes it up two gears straight away. A much deeper vibe for this track which would sit perfectly mid-set on an atmospheric progressive dance floor to build the atmosphere.

Next up is the Ugly Cat remix but it's anything but! We think this should be in the arsenal of any DJ practicing the art of warm-up, it's solid and building sound a perfect track to slowly build the set.

For the 116 db mix we switch straight to peak time. This track would fit very well following the UNIV3RSE mix and it doesn't pull any punches with its attack. Solid bass and a tougher energy for this penultimate track.

Last but very much not least we have the Morris Tellez remix. This track takes on many of the qualities of the other mixes on the EP in one place. A dirty hook dancing around an acid baseline takes this track on a different path. It's a weapon of a track which could be used at any point in a peak time set.
