Vital techno label Mavic Music continues to serve up fine dance floor weapons with ALX next up with four more bombs. Surrounded by the vibrant flavours of his hometown Miami, ALX’s one-of-a-kind concoction of deep, rumbling techno mixed with enticing, high energy grooves, wraps his audience in vibrations from dusk to dawn. He runs his own Descend label and is in fine form here.

Unphazed powers along on driving drums, with molten synths up top and crunchy hi hats adding texture to the trip. Warped then bangs hard with a hypnotic acid line and hammering hits that are all about making a big impact.

Frinetic is another acid banger, with lithe 303 lines spraying about next to white noise swooshes and dark, all consuming bass. Last of all, Gears rumbles through a dark warehouse space, with industrial motifs and a glitchy texture that draws you in.

This is another winning EP from ALX.
