Mike Bentley - Lose Myself
It was only a matter of time to bring our sound home. Critical
Elements is about bringing the sounds of new as well as established
producers and re-mixers, from around the world as well as the UK. But
for our next release, we look to our own doorstep and a new production
from one-half of Critical Elements, Mike Bentley (he's not written
this by the way!).
First up on the release is Mike's original track. We slip straight
into a signature Bentley percussive groove from the off, warm and
inviting synth stabs build into an envelope of sound as the synths
grow into a dreamy wave with a subtle but sublime vocal fading in and
out of a solid danceable beat. A proper journey and one we can be
proud of as our first in-house artist release.
The second track on the release is a remix by top progressive producer
Selsi. Hailing from Aberdeen, Selsi toughens up the original track in
a subtle yet accomplished way, giving a cheeky rumble to the bassline
and filtering the vocal to create deepness and tension in a way that
perfectly balances the original. The dreamy breakdown and rising
twinkles before the drop set the direction for a groove-laden part
two.
