Shervin Boloorian - Al Fatiheh

Shervin Boloorian's album One with the Beloved was released in October 2017 and since then Shervin has toured around the world, ending the year in Australia. The album has been wonderfully received and this collection of mixes add new life into one of the most popular tracks on the album. We are delighted to have N I G H T N O I S E favourite and Nantes resident AWITW serving up a blissful, dreamy mix that brings out the beauty of the Kora and has the most gorgeous squelchy bassline to slot this into any chilled set. Nottingham's DJ Hal focuses in on the eastern elements of the record and picks up the pace taking Shervin into the realms of the dancefloor. Original co-producer and engineer Gilles Saissi delivers a stripped down mix and a new b-side of Shams O Ghamaram finishes this new collection. We hope you enjoy the music and we would love to hear your thoughts. For more information about Shervin and the tour please visit:

Translation excerpt from Franklin D. Lewis:
"MY SUN and moon has come, my ears and eyes have come
That smooth and argent skin, that mine of gold has come!
A dizzy warmth whelmed my head, light lit up my eyes –
What else that you could ever ask, that too has come!
I’m not fearing death, since that fount of life has come –Why fear barbs and jabs, since he has become my shield?"

About Al Fatiheh/Eshgh Allah Madud Allah:
(from "One with the Beloved" album liner notes)
This song contains the opening verse or “Sureh” of the Quran. It is said that the entire Mosalman (Muslim) teachings can be condensed into this one Arabic verse. The Zikr part of the title translates to “God is Love, Lover, and Beloved.” The music has an African style and is the first of its kind as far as I know. It is skillfully accompanied by my friend, Vieux, on African Harp (Kora). To me, it is a blessing, a prayer for aid in a time of need, a reminder to stay on the path of faith, and pays homage to creation and Creator.
