Louisahhh - Chaos / A Hard No (He.She.They.)

A dyad of dark, moody, rebel rousing tracks with an apocalyptic lilt where techno and rock collide, no day could be more fitting to debut the first work from Louisahhh’s forthcoming debut album ‘The Practice of Freedom’ than Friday the 13th.

Louisahhh comments “I’m so excited to present the first album singles. I want the universe of these records to be something so strong and sublime you can feel it in your bones, in your teeth when you listen.”

‘A Hard No’ holds the line of Louisahhh’s club-focused work while continuing to evolving lyrically, whilst ‘Chaos’ leans strongly towards the new direction into which the artist has been pivoting, referencing the “alternative rock” of her youth; the likes of Garbage; Nine Inch Nails, and Siouxsie and the Banshees.

This double-A side also marks the first release from He.She.They.’s newly established record label. Louisahhh has played for the polysexual polymath brand from London’s fabric to Berlin’s Watergate alongside the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Ellen Allien and Miss Kittin sending Room 1 into a frenzy every-time.

In a joint statement from He.She.They. Founders Sophia Kearney and Steven Braines...

“Louisahhh and her album embodies many of the things that He.She.They. stands for; honesty, female power, self acceptance, sex positivity and most importantly of all a punk creative spirit and sonic experimentation. It’s the perfect release to set the tone of the label. You hopefully might find the next Bjork, PJ Harvey, Peaches, Tricky or Maya Jane Coles here; and, with all due respect, you probably won’t find the next Ed Sheeran here.“

It’s very clear that in Louisahhh; punk has found its new heroine.
