Carlo Giannico - Rotten EP

Carlo Giannico is a new artist from Dubai, which immediately raises questions like “wait… Dubai has underground music?” and “has this guy ever experienced rain?” The answer to both is still currently unconfirmed due to him completely disregarding our questions over email.

What is confirmed though is Carlo’s ability to make music that sounds like Skrillex and Solomun accidentally locked themselves in a studio and wrote complextro at 140bpm. It sounds otherworldly. It probably shouldn’t work. But somehow it absolutely does. Jackin hardcore grooves, weirdly addictive percussion and the confidence of a man who definitely owns at least one expensive pair of sunglasses.

Both Rotton and Remind You sit on the tougher side of Box of Cats, but honestly that’s exactly what we’re frothing on right now. Pushing the envelope of what it even means to be BOC. The energy is high and the minimal techno DJs can respectfully skip this one 😉

Still fresh on the scene, Carlo Giannico is already sounding way too developed for someone this new. Suspiciously good honestly.
