10 Years of Box of Cats.

Somehow, against all odds, common sense, and several questionable group chats about kitty litter… we made it a decade.

What started as a couple of frothy house heads uploading tunes for free on SoundCloud has turned into a full blown global cat colony. 250+ releases, artists from all corners of the planet, dancefloors absolutely copping it at 2am, and a community that feels more like a upside down family Christmas than a record label.

And that’s the bit we’re most proud of.

Box of Cats has never been about signing the biggest tracks and biggest artists in the world. It’s been about grass roots community. The producers nervously sending their first demo. The artists who trusted us with their weird ideas. The fans who tattooed a cat on their body without asking their mum first. You lot are really what makes BOC, BOC.

We’ve had pizza parties. We’ve had late night airport debriefs. We’ve had “this one’s a bit too weird” moments that turned into our biggest records. We’ve watched artists go from bedroom producers to festival main stages. We’ve seen lifelong friendships spark over a dodgy bassline.

And through it all, the fun and love for music has stayed.

Ten years of chunky drums. Ten years of A&R arguing over 1db on a hi hat. Ten years of writing bios that probably shouldn’t have been approved. Ten years of saying “this one’s a weapon, lets fkn sign it!"

But more than anything, ten years of community.

So to every artist, DJ, fan, supporter, friend, accidental intern, and person who’s ever shouted “meow” at us in a nightclub… thank you. You’re the reason this thing still has nine lives.

We’re proud. We’re grateful. We’re still a bit weird.
