Rossano Snel - The Fire In The Forest EP

Following the stunning album 'Sketches of Tallinn', released back in April on Berlin's XJAZZ imprint, Brazilian composer and pianist Rossano Snel returns with a more uptempo jazz offering, 'The Fire In The Forest'.

Built around recurring motifs, deep grooves and evolving textures, the release draws inspiration from soul, funk, jazz-inflected harmony and instrumental groove records.

After years releasing works that moved through contemporary classical, ambient and experimental territories, Berlin-based Brazilian pianist Rossano Snel opens a new chapter on his artistic path with The Fire In The Forest. Built around piano, Hammond organ and drums, the project embraces a more band-oriented sound and spirit.

Born in Brazil and based in Berlin, Rossano is a self-taught pianist and composer working with lush harmonies, minimalism, Brazilian influences, and cinematic soundscapes. He plays piano, keys and synths, and arranges music for ensembles creating orchestrations of chaos and clarity, structure and improvisation.

In 2023, he released CARBON. A piano version of Lithium (Nirvana) appears alongside original works like Force of Nature (you and me) and NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME. His piano piece Sunday 23 was released under the prestigious care of Deutsche Grammophon. Over the years, his music has found its way into more than 20 productions, including feature films, TV series, documentaries, installations, and performances. His scores have been heard in projects for HBO, Netflix, Universal Pictures, arte, ZDF, and TV Globo, as well as in art spaces such as KW Contemporary (Berlin), Parque Laje (Rio), and Pivô (São Paulo).
