Remember back in the day (if you were around back in da day) when you played records and quite often, the records were in record sleeves with not much info and half the time, you didn't even know the name of the record - it never actually even made it on to the sleeve - you just bought it because the guy at the vinyl store said it was the one that Derrick Carter had been smashing all summer or the write up above it said heavy plays by Tiefschwarz.
You knew the one with the pink cover with the half torn sleeve in one corner was the one that had that epic breakdown and that vocal sample that never let you down and then the one with the green cover and some sticker that said Azuli...well you knew that had that rolling bass and 90's hip hop tag that always worked.
NOW LISTEN by our boys YOLANDA.... Is the kinda record that.... If it were a record.... In the traditional sense..... and it had no markings.... aka was one of those white labels..... Well.... You'd file it in your memory bank as one for all occasions. It's got enough bump for the mainroom, but enough funk for the daytime and dare we say, enough fun to bring a smile to the late night energy.
The boys are back to doing what they do best - sample heavy, party bumping, house music.
And we down with dat.
