Fishing in rough waters is lonely. It’s just you, the boat, and the power of the sea. Every surge of the waves is a test of courage to focus on your breathing & to keep last night's dinner down.

I remember this one time being so sea sick & disorientated that I fell asleep on the floor of the boat and had a dream about floating through clouds and playing a round of golf… or maybe I fainted and passed out? hhmm but I digress..

Sea sickness… Motion sickness… whatever you wanna call it… It’s not for the faint of heart… and I don't miss it one bit.

Which brings me to NALA & her new single ROUGH WATERS.

Now this may sound weird… but when I first heard this demo, the breakdowns reminded me of that exact feeling of floating through clouds before quickly imagining being on a festival sized dancefloor on the drops. Weird right? … But we love lil bit of weirdness at Sweat It Out & we Love NALA!!

What I’m getting at is… this record ticks more than just the ‘YEAH IT WORKS IN A CLUB’ box.

It’ll make u feel warm and fuzzy when you’re cooking your favourite dinner,
It’ll force you to go do the thing you’ve been putting off doing all week,
It’ll make you run faster,
It’ll give u feelings of nostalgia (depending on when you’re born) …
God damn It’ll even make you message your best friend to tell them u love em’ !!!!
