The Allergies - Coming On Strong

Bristol beat-making duo, The Allergies, are back to build off their recent run of sweet and soulful singles with another blast of sonic sunshine.

The pair had a massive hot streak in 2024 with a string of killer singles preceding their latest album Freak The Speaker in September. No Flash was playlisted on BBC 6 Music in the UK and Koliko was a nailed on tune of the summer.

2025 got off to a strong start with one of the band’s classic tracks God Walked Down being hand picked by director Ben Stiller to close out the opening episode of Season Two of Severance – one of the hottest TV shows of the year.

For Spring and Summer 25 they have released the three track So Real EP of which Coming On Strong is the final part to be released.

This time around they enlist crate-dug vocal samples of a hippie-era Chubby Checker (yes, that one). All twisted with charm around lush orchestral production, awash with seaside organs and loose rolling drum break loops.

The Sound-of-the-Summer shimmer provides the perfect bed for the uplifting and groovy lyrics, radiating some much-needed 60’s idealism and positivity along the way.
