JOPLYN - Disco Nap

The track starts out with a heavy tech-house beat and a simple, but driving bassline. The vocal with the catchphrase “Disco Nap” quickly enters and gets supported by choppy techno stabs and a siren, with additional swirling synths and some vocal chants.

In the breakdown, a new 80s-style synth lead line boldly claims the focus, and the track keeps building with some echo vocals and a rising drum roll that culminates in a massive beat-heavy drop with high-energy drums.

The song then fades out while the vocal hooks keep getting repeated, and we ride the groove until we need another nap and break.

Discussing the inspiration behind the song, JOPLYN said:

"When I wrote “Disco Nap,” I was in a songwriting session and had just come in from a little bit of a bender the night before. I mentioned to my friend Naomi, who the session was with, that I probably needed a bit of a “Disco Nap” in the middle of it as I went out to get my fourth coffee of the day—to which she burst out laughing. It’s a word that has crept into mine and my friends’ vocabulary over the years, to the point that I forget it isn’t officially part of the English language. So, we decided to write a song with it."
