Wuki & Allegra Miles – Daydream [Gotta Move Records]

Wuki and Allegra Miles release their new single "Daydream" via Insomniac's Gotta Move Records.

Based in Denver, Wuki is a Grammy-nominated producer who has always remained lightyears ahead of the curve. Between his deep chameleonic back catalog and the wildly popular Wukileaks series—an endless stream of flips, remixes, bootlegs, VIPs, edits and releases showcasing his beatmaking acumen across any genre he chooses—the multi-instrumentalist has rocked the dancefloor with trap, breakbeat, electronica, global bass, house, electro, ghettotech and much more. Allegra Miles is an LA transplant by way of the Virgin Islands, an accomplished singer-songwriter whose soulful voice stirs up emotions within the R&B and hyperpop realms, showing she also has what it takes to go the distance in electronic music. The artists are combining talents for their new single on Insomniac's Gotta Move label.

"Daydream" is a vocal-driven dance record built on a timeless house framework. Miles turns up the temperature with a sweltering serenade, her delivery is fluffy and cloud-like as she likens those intense feelings closer to fantasy. Her croons and breathy, huffy-puffy hooks pair with a sublime orchestration of soft drum shuffles, sweeping string flourishes, sustained padlines, rubbery basslines, and staccato piano motifs feeding into the rose-colored tone of their timeless ballad.
