Charles Petersohn - Children Of Zu Zu Remixes

The remix package for Charles Petersohn's Children Of Zu Zu EP shines with its musical diversity, ranging from jazzy broken beats to afro/deep house, featuring re-works by Mary Olivetti, Moodorama, als420, Viktor Marek, The Greater Manchester Housing Authority, and Charles Petersohn himself. The digital bundle also includes a remix featuring the "Music Minds" Peter Stephan and Joachim Litty.

“The shared desire for the EP's tracks to embrace the idea that a remix can be a work of art in its own right has been fully realized. All the mixes have a personal touch, using the originals as raw material that has been played with to one's heart's content. I'm very happy!” - Charles Petersohn.

Building on the EP, last year saw three concerts with three different lineups, each focusing on a different style. Several gigs as a DJ team followed in the summer and autumn. The release party for the remix EP at LOCH in Wuppertal will feature another live set: alongside the deep house and dub-tech duo >Heike< with als420 and Colkin, Charles will perform spoken word poetry, Zu Zu Poetry. A core group, the Zu Zu Family, has emerged from these gigs and DJ sets. A video trailer featuring tracks and snippets from the concerts and DJ sessions will be released soon. Expect more from this side of the project in the future.

About the „Children Of Zu Zu EP“

"Children Of Zu Zu" marked Charles Petersohn's comeback after 18 years, featuring deep house, jazz not jazz, Afro-Brazilian grooves, and ambient jazz. Soundscapes in the background of almost every track transport the music to a fictional location.

With the support of Web Web keyboardist Roberto di Gioia, drummer Mickey Neher, vocals by AdaSoul and Narjara Thamiz and his two granddaughters, he created music for the dance floor, jazz clubs, chill-out zones, and even children’s room!

The EP sold out by the end of May 2025 and was repressed. Several international music lovers and connoisseurs praised the excellent sound, the elegance of the tracks, and the smooth vibes of "Children Of Zu Zu."
