Japan Greatly (feat. Reek0 and S.I)
Releasing digitally on March 11th via Brownswood Recordings
East London producer and DJ IZCO shares his second single ‘Japan Greatly’, featuring Reek0 and S.I, and taken from his debut solo studio album POWERSCROFT, set for release on 1 May via Brownswood Recordings.
‘Japan Greatly’ follows ‘Strike a Pose’, a track that distilled this world into a powerful opening statement through its blend of broken beat, garage and soul, gaining support from the likes of FADER and CLASH. On the latest track, IZCO says: “It’s high energy and vibrant, with the freedom of Reek0 and S.I who freestyled their original vocals. We are just trying to show how it felt to be in the studio that day. Electric.”
That sense of spontaneity and spirit is echoed by the collaborators themselves. Reek0 reflects: “Japan Greatly! Being made in a sacred building surrounded by family and good energy! It’s only right this track was born in Japan.” S.I adds: “Japan Greatly was made so naturally with the best people! Where it came from and what it is now was like it was written in the stars.” Together, their words capture the organic, almost fated energy that runs through the record.
Regarding the clean version, the only difference between the two tracks is the removal of the phrase 'rolling something skunky'.
