GIINA - The Sun Can't Compare

GIINA makes her debut on Electronic Nature with “The Sun Can’t Compare,” a house cut built around warmth, subtle textures, and a natural sense of flow.

“The Sun Can’t Compare” settles into a warm, groove-led flow from the outset, with a rolling bassline providing the foundation. Reimagining Larry Heard’s timeless classic through her own lens, GIINA’s soulful vocal takes centre stage, bringing a fresh energy while retaining the emotion that made the original so enduring. A repetitive synth line gradually adds another layer to the production, introducing a subtle underground edge as the track unfolds. Blending deep house warmth with a natural sense of movement, the record builds effortlessly into a feel-good moment made to connect with the dancefloor.

New Zealand-born and Canada-raised, GIINA is based between Los Angeles and Ibiza, moving seamlessly between DJ sets, hybrid performances, and fully live shows. After studying music production and sound design at Point Blank LA, she began developing a distinctive sound built around her own vocals and hardware-driven elements. Her music has landed on respected labels including Dirtybird, Desert Hearts, Witty Tunes, Strangelove, Reecords, and Cuff, earning support from artists including Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Dennis Cruz, PAWSA, and more.

A seasoned performer, GIINA has held residencies at leading Los Angeles venues, played Burning Man multiple times, and performed at Amsterdam Dance Event. In 2023, she brought a full live set of original music to Desert Hearts Festival at the LA Coliseum, returning the following year for its Arizona edition. In 2025, she launched LOVE.CLUB Records, an imprint centred around freedom and feel-good energy on the dancefloor, with further collaborations and releases set for 2026.

With “The Sun Can’t Compare,” GIINA delivers a feel-good addition to the Electronic Nature catalogue, balancing deep house foundations with a soulful vocal and an effortless club flow.
