The Illustrious Blacks - Next To Me with Soul Clap Remixes

The second single from The Illustrious Blacks EP, VELOCITY, is the dreamy “Next to Me”, featuring soulful lead vocals by Monstah Black, and a smooth soundscape reminiscent of the late great Roy Ayers. Soul Clap family Greg Paulus joins in, providing melodic clouds of billowing trumpets, along with Grammy nominated keyboardist Axel Tosca.

The Illustrious Blacks EP VELOCITY out June 26th is brought forth musically by the wonderfully adept producer Taylor Bense.

The Soul Clap remix of "Next To Me" moves The Illustrious Blacks' future soul electronica into deep and funky house territory with a rollicking bass line and layered percussion; hand claps, cymbals, woodblocks syncopate the remix with that classic Soul Clap sound. The Soul Clap Stripped remix turns up the tempos and pushes a hype four on the floor agenda with a touch of swing for hip shaking.
