Thorgan Wolff returns to Do It Anyway Records following his Can't Lose EP. Behind the name is Rhett Hill, a familiar part of the DIA family with a clear ear for warm, musical grooves; Never Did I... also continues his collaboration with Robin Lee of Faze Action, who contributed live keys, bass and guitar to Can't Lose.
This time he comes back with a soulful, summery disco affair built around lush strings, a funky bassline and an irresistible rhythm-guitar riff from Lee. Everything has room to breathe: the strings bring the soul, the bass keeps things moving and the guitar adds a loose, human swing. Warm, uplifting and full of real musicianship, it's Thorgan Wolff back in proper disco mode.
