Carlo Lio & Carabetta - Problems EP (Witty Tunes BLK)

Artist(s): Carlo Lio, Carabetta
Release name: Girl Problems
Label: Witty Tunes
Catalogue number: WTB002

The second edition of Witty Tunes BLK arrives with a serious underground statement, welcoming two heavyweight names for an outstanding collaboration. Created as a deeper extension of the Witty Tunes sound, BLK focuses on more stripped-back, underground-driven productions while keeping the club at the centre of everything.

This time around, Carlo Lio and Carabetta join forces for Problems EP, delivering two sophisticated cuts that explore the darker and deeper side of modern House and Techno.

Few artists have left a mark on the House and Techno landscape quite like Carlo Lio. A key figure in the scene for well over a decade, Lio has played some of the world's most respected clubs and festivals, including Ultra Miami Main Stage, Paradise Ibiza, Elrow, Space Ibiza and Solid Grooves, among countless others.

His production catalogue is equally impressive, with releases on heavyweight imprints including SCI+TEC, Bedrock Records, MOOD, Desolat, Suara, Intec Digital and Mindshake Records. With further remix and collaboration projects involving artists such as Mathew Dear aka Audion, DJ Sneak, Paul Ritch, Carl Cox and Nicole Moudaber on the horizon, Lio continues to operate at the highest level of the underground.

Joining him is Carabetta, whose career has taken him through some of the industry's most respected festivals and events, including multiple editions of EDC, Groove Cruise, Electric Forest and BPM Festival. His catalogue includes signings with Insomniac and Universal Music, while his performance history spans iconic venues such as Space Miami, Pacha and Café Mambo.

A defining chapter came when Music On brought Carabetta to Ibiza for its acclaimed All About the Music showcase, further cementing his position within the international House and Techno circuit.

The EP opens with “Girl Problems,” a deep and hypnotic club cut driven by rolling percussion, a tight low-end and subtle layers that build tension without ever overcomplicating the groove. It's the kind of record that rewards a proper sound system and plenty of room to move.
“Red Sharpie” takes the sound into an equally intriguing direction, combining a stripped-back groove with a darker, more heads-down atmosphere. Minimal in its approach but rich in detail, the track keeps the pressure building through carefully placed rhythmic elements and an unmistakably underground feel.

With Problems EP, Carlo Lio & Carabetta deliver exactly what Witty Tunes BLK represents: deeper sounds, serious grooves and music made for those who like their dancefloor pressure underground.
