Jason Ross - True North LP (Album Sampler) [Lost In Dreams Records]
Jason Ross returns to Lost In Dreams Records with True North, his new full-length studio album, arriving May 29th. Comprising ten tracks shaped by a period of deep inward reflection, the record stands as the most personal body of work he has produced — a full-length built not around a genre or a trend, but around a feeling: the pull of an inner compass guiding an artist back to what matters most.
The album’s title is its thesis. True North represents the gut feeling that pulls us back into alignment even when the path isn’t clear. The instinct toward authenticity, emotional honesty, and choosing what feels right over what is expected. For Jason Ross, the record is not an exercise in nostalgia; it is a statement of identity. No matter how much has evolved, the creative spark that first drew him to music remains the same point on the compass.
That arc unfolds across ten collaborations spanning the full breadth of Jason Ross’ sonic range — melodic bass, progressive house, future bass, and cinematic electropop — without sacrificing the through-line of intimacy. The album opens with “Mirage” alongside William Black and vocalist Oaks. From there, “Ultra Love,” the high-energy collaboration with KSHMR and Brieanna Grace released in March via Lost In Dreams / Dharma Worldwide, shifts toward festival-scale euphoria while retaining close-listening detail. “Crash” with Dutch vocalist Lin was here anchors the emotional core: a melodic bass piece about the moment when standing still is no longer an option, built from sparse piano, muted guitar, and howling electric guitar drops. Each track in the album deepens the introspective arc. “Heaven” and “Back to Life,” both featuring babyidontlikeyou, bring a rawer, more vulnerable edge. “Let Go” with TW3LVE and “On My Own” with Jillian Rossi extend the record’s emotional range before the title track closes things out — a solo statement, four minutes of cinematic atmosphere that distills everything True North has been building toward.
