MFF (Music For Freaks)

Re-Freaked vol 3 - Freaks - Telefunken (Baloo & Carlo Rework)

The third instalment in our Re-Freaked series finds Saudi selector Baloo and Berlin-based DJ/producer Carlo reworking the Freaks’ cult cut Telefunken into a late-night shape-shifter — low-slung and laced with the unmistakable vocal textures of Chicago OG, Diz Washington.
Baloo— a long-time force in Saudi Arabia’s underground scene with a spectrum of house, disco, deep and minimal, that ranges from the gritty to the downright filthy.  He's been spinning house music since1997, establishing himself as one of the earliest and most influential DJs in Saudi Arabia and his work has laid the foundation for the country's now-thriving electronic music scene.
Carlo, meanwhile, steps in with his solid production hand, and deep roots in Berlin’s scene, balancing restraint and rawness. Known for his time at Berlin’s Watergate and now a resident at Málaga’s StudioClub, his releases on Classic Music Company and Shall Not Fade have made him a staple of quality House.
Together, they deliver a bold, twisted rework primed for late-night sessions and discerning clubfloors. The remix was built in three nights in a Berlin studio and inspired by the pull of a MFF classic track that Baloo didn’t have to think twice about - the result: a slow-burner with teeth!
