WALTHER, Musumeci & Bakean - This Dance (Kiko Navarro Remix) - Music For Clubs

The original of THIS DANCE by WALTHER, Musumeci & Bakean has been gaining support from Kristian Âme, Ivory, IT, Dodi Palese, Denis Horvat, Nandu, Frankey & Sandrino, Valentin Huedo, Jonathan Kaspar, Phunkadelica and Kiko Navarro to name a few.

Kiko Navarro is an established house producer and legend in Spain and his latest production has been released on Rekids. We asked Kiko to do a remix as he loved the original of THIS DANCE

Kiko: When Kenneth sent me This Dance a couple of months ago, I listened to it and I liked it, but it was during the breakdown, when the piano came in, that I thought: “Wait a minute, this sounds familiar.” The low pass filter was opening and it immediately reminded me of one of my early house favourites from ’89, The Real Wild House by the legendary Barcelona DJ Raúl Orellana.

I told Kenneth that straight away, and a few days later I played it for the first time at the Utopia event in Chisinau, Moldova. The reaction was amazing, and when I shared that with Kenneth, he asked me if I’d like to remix it… and of course, I said yes!

For the remix, I got inspired by the early 90s UK rave scene, a style I fell in love with back then and still enjoy playing when the vibe is right. So you can expect breakbeats, anthemic pianos, acid lines, and a proper stomping kick. I really had a great time working on it, hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
