SLAMM and Gio Lucca - The Prayer [Insomniac Records]
Chicago-based duo SLAMM and Peru-born producer Gio Lucca join forces for their new collab "The Prayer," a retro-infused indie record arriving by way of Insomniac Records.
"The Prayer" is an indie dance club record taking cues from retro electroclash and synthpop music. Pious female vocals exude an exotic energy, reinterpreting religious terminology into playful party-starting praise. Vintage syncopated basslines and intricate drum machine loops provide a punchy Italo disco-laced rhythm, while shimmery synth modulations and cascading arpeggiated textures complete the retro dancefloor devotional.
