Dope Ameen – Bells and Whistles [Discovery Project Records]

LA-based producer Dope Ameen lands his debut outing on Insomniac's Discovery Project label with his new single "Bells and Whistles," a future riddim single in its rawest form.

Based in LA by way of New Orleans, Dope Ameen is a bass music upstart intent on hijacking the brain's pleasure center to flood the synapses with his ethereal dubstep concoctions. He's making his debut on Insomniac's Discovery Project label with his new single. "Bells and Whistles" is an essential dose of future riddim, an instrumental melodic dubstep track with all the trappings of the conscious-expanding subgenre. Chiming bells and warm color bass melodies work in concert to induce an almost child-like wonder, bouncing gracefully across otherworldly padlines, floaty drumkit loops, and whimsical tones that feel like melting into human psyche.

The track won the Discovery Project's DJ/Producer competition, part of the Clubs Edition, as chosen by guest judge Emorfik. This earned him an opening set at the Bassrush-hosted night at Avalon Hollywood, as well as this single on the label.
