Founded in the early 2000s, Secret Weapon Records carved out its place in the underground with a sound that was raw, hypnotic, and deeply rooted in the grit of Southwestern Ontario. The label embraced techno as both art and science, designed for dancefloors, but built to alter your perception. Now, with a new generation of listeners in mind, the label re-emerges with the same mission: to keep the underground alive.

Time to press play. Operator Baby is her premier single on the label, available from 10th April, backed with a very special remix by DMX KREW And it’s the start of something big. The Ibiza-based producer and DJ is in a rich vein of form, her recent single Who’s Here? was released on Kompakt to great acclaim. Operator Baby is a track that continues to showcase just how good Greta Levska is.

Operator Baby starts with a laid back drum beat, accompanied by a sweet, short and sultry vocal sample. The dirtiest bassline enters, distorted and low, then comes an acid-drenched synth top line so catchy that you can’t believe you’ve never heard it before. Operator Baby is an instant classic. Close your eyes and just imagine the reception this is going to get on a big sound system with a jubilant crowd.

Greta Levska is a master at her craft. The depth in Operator Baby is sensational, layers of delay, reverb and chorus synths working concordantly to create an immersive 3D soundscape around you, including a cheeky little camera lens sample that makes you feel like you’re the star of your very own photoshoot.

The DMX KREW remix brings a different funk, whilst staying faithful to the original. The kick drum a little more 4/4 and the bassline like a low, low pitched steel pan. Cinematic synths give this remix a wide horizon whilst keeping that perfect synth topline. Stunning.
