Ahadadream, Priya Ragu, Skrillex Feat. Contra - TAKA

With ideas first forged between Ahadadream and Skrillex over Zoom during the pandemic, 'TAKA' began in earnest after finally meeting in London nearly a year later, where they were joined in the studio by Priya Ragu and her brother, Japhna Gold.

Raw, early versions of the track - a rowdy, hyper-kinetic percussive club workout buoyed by Ragu’s entrancing “TAKA” vocal chop - saw early traction via Chris Lake and Four Tet, both of whom road-tested it in sets during early 2023, before it began taking on a whole new life of its own last fall.

“‘TAKA’ had started building in the clubs thanks to Chris Lake and Four Tet already”, Ahadadream explains, “and then it went viral on my Boiler Room”. Dropped as one of the last records during his debut Boiler Room broadcast in September to memorable scenes - and pulled up by Skrillex himself, who emerges from the crowd to share the moment - 'TAKA' quickly became one of the most sought-aftertrack IDs.
