Avantika - Moody Koyal

Get Physical Music welcomes rising Indian artist Avantika with her powerful debut EP ‘Moody Koyal’: A bold, two-track statement that bridges traditional Indian influences with modern club energy.

Known for fusing her classical Indian music roots and rock vocal background with a globe-spanning electronic sound, Avantika is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new voices in dance music. As the first Indian DJ to play Exit Festival, she has already made waves with standout performances across continents, from Berlin to Burning Man. With a sonic identity shaped by tribal, Afro, Latin, Middle Eastern and Indian textures, she brings something entirely her own to the dance floor.

Opening track ‘Maro Dum’ is a hypnotic reinterpretation of the iconic Dum Maro Dum, transformed into a deep and seductive club groove. Avantika’s dreamy vocals float over pulsating rhythms and swirling synths, offering a nod to the past while pushing forward into uncharted territory. It’s haunting, stylish, and impossible not to move to.

Title track “Moody Koyal” is a fierce tribute to India’s wildlife, capturing nature in full voice. Here, Avantika blends tribal percussion, eerie koyal birdsong, growling basslines, and snippets of monkey chatter into a riotous sonic tapestry. With hard-edged synth stabs and organic samples, it’s a raw and electrifying trip through the jungle, both primal and futuristic in equal measure.

With ‘Moody Koyal’, Avantika announces herself not just as a producer to watch, but as a sonic storyteller with a fresh and fearless vision.
