With CHOPPA EP, Joy Dept. delivers two peak-time tools that fuse raw machine energy with a human touch. Drawing on classic 808 and 909 drum machines, both tracks balance rolling basslines with vibey, organic percussions that keep dancers locked in.

Choppa is A relentless rolling bassline paired with grooving 909 rhythms and layered percussive textures. Designed as a straight-up club performer, this track builds momentum with every bar and cuts through the floor with peak-time authority.

Kitty Kitty Peng Peng comes as a playful yet heavy rework around the cult sample “Nobody likes the records that I play.” Infused with 808 low-end pressure, rolling percussive flavour and Joy Dept.’s unmistakable rhythmic signature, it turns the phrase into a self-fulfilling prophecy: once this drops, everybody’s locked in.
