Momoda - Crash Goes Love
Momoda’s second release on the label sees him continuing to refine a sound rooted in timeless house feeling and global club culture. Born in Nigeria and now based in Barcelona, he has been shaping his musical identity since 2012, drawing on deep house, afro influences and techno with a strong respect for the genre’s foundations. As an early figure in Nigeria’s emerging electronic scene, he helped build a movement that connected local crowds with international artists, before establishing himself as a familiar name on Barcelona’s dancefloors. His approach remains instinctive and people focused, always guided by groove and emotional connection.
‘Crash Goes Love’ leans into deep house aesthetics with a confident and contemporary touch. The track opens with straight talking house stabs and warm, Juno flavoured pads that echo Detroit and early deep house traditions, set over a steady and driving groove. As the arrangement unfolds, vocal chants begin to take shape, first subtle and lush, gradually gaining presence and intent.
The track reaches its emotional core as a full soulful female vocal emerges, lifting the groove into classic house territory without losing its modern edge. After a breakdown that strips things back and builds anticipation, the vocal returns in full force, delivering the line ‘I need you’ with clarity and passion. It is a moment designed for late night dancefloors, balancing nostalgia, warmth and forward motion in equal measure.
