DJ Pierre - Dancer

Definitive Recordings proudly welcomes the legendary DJ Pierre for a brand-new single, ‘The Dancer’, a pure disco-infused house cut that captures the spirit of the late ’70s and injects it with unmistakable WildPiTcH energy. A bold and modern take on the iconic Gino Soccio classic, Pierre’s cover version keeps the essence alive while infusing it with contemporary drive and flair.

Featuring a soulful female vocal performance by Alvaughn Jackson, ‘The Dancer’ is a celebration of groove, glamour, and timeless dancefloor power.

Built around a famous disco groove from the golden era, the Original Mix keeps things vibrant and uplifting, with bold string stabs, vintage rhythm guitars, and Pierre’s signature spoken word accents adding modern attitude. The UnDRSound Club Mix strips the track back for a more focused club experience, letting the vocal and groove lead the charge. Finally, DJ Pierre’s WildPiTcH Disco MiX brings a deeper, more hypnotic treatment, full of swells, twists, and tension, that nods to his iconic production style.

With a legacy that began in Chicago’s underground and reshaped dance music globally, DJ Pierre (aka Nathaniel Pierre Jones) was instrumental in pioneering the acid house genre as one-third of Phuture, creators of the legendary ‘Acid Tracks’. He later evolved into a key figure in New York house, shaping the iconic Strictly Rhythm sound and inventing the Wild Pitch technique, a raw, build-heavy production method that’s influenced generations of producers.

Now decades into his career, DJ Pierre shows no sign of slowing down. ‘The Dancer’ proves he’s still leading the movement, fusing the soul of disco with the tools of house to deliver another standout release.
