Renowned alternative artist Divine Earth punctuates a new era of her music and artistry with her sophomore EP ‘LAVENDER’, available today on all streaming platforms. Ranging from britpop indie bangers to whimsical lullabies, LAVENDER is sure to uplift and empower all those who listen.

The project takes inspiration from many forms - on the meaning behind the title, Divine Earth tells us;
“The EP is called LAVENDER because firstly there is something super sexy and enticing about the way it sounds.
I have also always had a close relationship to the colour purple growing up, and it was my favourite colour to wear and embrace as a child. LAVENDER celebrates my journey of reconnecting to me, my inner child and the woman I am destined to be

The focus track for this release ‘Like Nina/ Misunderstood’ takes inspiration from the Nina Simone song ‘Don’t let me be understood’ and is about searching to feel safe and accepted for who you are. On the making of new soft indie anthem, Divine Earth says;

“I’d say this track is inspired by guitars and also, my love for the legendary artists before me that were also misunderstood but never less great. As well as this it is about my love for girls and women and aligns with my purpose: To write empowering music for people to feel and be inspired.

On a personal note, sometimes I do feel misunderstood but I wrote this song to soften that sense of self scrutiny. The song is a poem describing a beautiful person who still feels lost and perhaps trapped in their mind. This song is their queue to shake it off and dance. It is an ode to always being yourself as no one is better than doing you than you.

Combining all of this, ‘LAVENDER’, in this context means, becoming and fulfilling who you are meant to be AND to be wearing lavender’s aroma is to feel confident, self assured and sexy. A person who is embracing lavender knows the beauty of the roots they come from.”
