We all know the scene: you're playing a mega tastefull DJ-set but suddenly three drunk girls leap over the DJ-booth to sabotage your set with a request for a birthday song - you're now faced with the horrible dilemma of either disappointing your loyal crowd or compromising on your own high musical ideals. Well - not anymore! Danish nu-jazzers Hess Is More have got your back. With this funky yet melancholic reharmonized and both vocoder and bongo-heavy rework there is no need to compromise on your impeccable taste to please crowds.

The self explanatory piece of music has three acts to it; 33% vintage drum machine disco-waltz, 33% theatrical floating synths and 33% Oilly Wallace sax solo. Angela Watson from East Coast Inspirational Singers delivers inspiring guest vocals on the track which was written as part of the performance Apollonian Blackout at the Sort/Hvid Theatre in Copenhagen in 2023, and thereafter developed with the musical guests.

The song is released on Mikkel Hess' (Hess Is More's leading figure) 50th birthday which will be celebrated with a grandieuse jazz party at the iconic Copenhagen club Søpavilionen. His only wish is that you download the promo and play it in your dj-sets!
