Userwave - Ontocentrism (Pyramid of Knowledge Vector Mix)
Userwave's ‘Ontocentrism’ Returns with a Dreamlike Pyramid of Knowledge Rework
Secret Weapon Records continues revisiting its rich catalogue with another timeless release from the label's early years. Originally appearing on Userwave's The Illuminated Light EP in 2008, ‘Ontocentrism’ stood out as a dreamy electro excursion, blending atmospheric melodies with crisp machine rhythms and an unmistakable futuristic spirit. Now the track returns alongside a brand new reinterpretation from Pyramid of Knowledge.
Behind Userwave is Canadian producer Jason Justin, a longtime fixture of North America's electronic music scene. Since the mid-'90s he has released music under several aliases, including Symplx and Imitryx, with productions appearing on respected labels such as Great Lakes Records, Mutex USA, Steel City and Secret Weapon Records. Whether in the studio or behind the decks, Justin has remained committed to his unmistakable vision: abstract yet functional, minimal yet detailed, always rooted in forward-thinking electronic music.
For the remix, Secret Weapon welcomes Pyramid of Knowledge, a French producer based in South Korea and one of today's most distinctive contemporary electro artists. With releases on labels including Beyond the Bridge, Dream Ticket, Craigie Knowes, Hard Beach Entertainment and Mana Abundance, as well as under his K.O.P.32 alias, he has developed a sound that combines deep electro traditions with adventurous sound design.
His ‘Vector Mix’ gently reshapes the original into a spacious and immersive journey. Dubby textures drift through evolving echo chambers while deep synth work and delicate melodic fragments create a dreamlike atmosphere. Rather than overpowering the original, Pyramid of Knowledge expands its emotional depth, resulting in a remix that feels experimental, hypnotic and remarkably unique.
With ‘Ontocentrism (Pyramid of Knowledge Vector Mix)’, Secret Weapon Records continues its mission of reconnecting forgotten underground classics with today's electronic music landscape. Reignited by Greta Levska and the team behind Get Physical Music, the label remains dedicated to preserving its legacy while embracing the future.
