Papa Marlin, Bondar - Hello Ibiza!

This is a true story.

In my very early days of DJ'ing, neither me - nor any of my mates… Had much cash.

One of our mates worked on the marketing team for Corona and well... Yes... Corona had a competition where, in 25 words or less, you had to say what you loved about summer and where you'd rather be.

If you won, you got an all expenses trip for 2 to Ibiza.

Now, I should say, when they said all expenses.. What they meant was 2 flights to Ibiza and a week at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Antonio. The rest was on you. But I digress.

Now my DJ mate, Andy and I were pretty pumped about this comp and my mate was equally pumped - he even thought we might have a good chance of winning.

So... We entered.

My answer was as follows - "I love summer. The sun stays up all day. I've heard it goes to Ibiza after it sets. I wish I knew."

Now correct me if I'm wrong but it felt like a winner to me. Now I don't know if the cheeky $1k we swung our mate had anything to do with it, but sure enough we got the letter in the mail. We had won.

We're going to ibiza!!!

We were stoked. But then so was my girlfriend at the time who def thought she was coming - which in turn meant my dj mate decided he didn't want to go - but I could buy his half from him.

So..in the end.... I didn't really win an "all expenses" trip to Ibiza..But I did go.

And even though the Hard Rock Hotel has dj's that start at 11am and even tho it's in San Antonio and even though I spent my life savings on a couple of Vodka sodas at Pacha, it was an amazing time.

Which brings me to PAPA MARLIN and BONDAR - with releases on labels like Hot Creations, South of Saturn and Toolroom, these guys have already had their music smashed on the white isle and with the summer just around the corner - this one is a sure fire way to get the party started.
