Vokall Records - September Sampler

Amsterdam imprint Vokall records have a dizzying array of great releases coming up, so we've selected four of the best for your delectation: soulful house from Fleur de Mur ft. Drabes & Soul Food Horns, soul/jazz from Grammy winning trumpeter / vocalist Philip Lassiter, glistening Neo Soul from Alexander IV ft. IYAMAH, plus sweet soul/pop from Hannah Sopacuwa.

1. Paris-based Fleur De Mur, flying the flag for real soulful house music with her own live band, teams up with Dutch duo Drabes and international collective Soul Food Horns for groovy banger 'Love Don’t Keep Score' released on Vondell, the house sub label of Vokall Records. The single is out now on DSPs and download stores.

2. Philip Lassiter is an American musician, 11 time Grammy certified arranger & former member of Prince & the NPG, here flexing his singer/songwriter chops with sultry, D'Angelo-esque single 'Shoes'. "My daughter was visiting the Netherlands from the US for the first time & sleeping upstairs, when I sat at the piano and quietly wrote this love song" says Lassiter. "Her presence put a warmth in my heart that inspired this song." 'Shoes' is out everywhere on October 2nd.

3. Following his acclaimed album 'Alchemist' on Sonar Kollektiv, Alexander IV joins forces with UK vocalist IYAMAH for classy Neo Soul / R&B cut, 'About Us'. IYAMAH is one of the UK’s rising voices in alternative R&B. She has toured with Masego and Mahalia, sold out headline shows at venues including The Jazz Cafe and OMEARA, and amassed over 35 million streams, alongside support from BBC Radio 1Xtra and the Joe Budden Podcast. 'About Us' will be released on September 25th.

4. Hannah Sopacuwa is a 24-year-old Dutch-Moluccan pop-soul artist and bassist whose sound blends warmth, groove, and a touch of nostalgia. Inspired by Stevie Wonder, Cleo Sol, and Olivia Dean, she creates music that feels both tender and bold. 'All Okay' rounds out our sampler with fresh, feel-good soul-pop track that drifts in like a warm breeze, capturing the lightness and new energy of spring. 'All Okay' is out on September 18th.
