LOVE OR NOTHING, KENNEDY REALNESS ― ODE TO LOVE

Love or Nothing reunites with pianist and composer Kennedy Realness for ''Ode to Love'', a genre-blurring electronic house record.

The beginnings of ''Ode to Love'' date back to 2021, when Love or Nothing and Kennedy Realness first began exchanging musical ideas while working on an entirely different track. Among those early recordings was a piano idea that never quite went away. Five years later, Love or Nothing returned to it, reshaping the unfinished collaboration into something entirely new.

Built as a track of two halves, ''Ode to Love'' places Kennedy's piano firmly at its centre. There is no vocal: the piano becomes the voice of the record.

The first half unfolds through a warm, mid-tempo Afro-house groove, before Kennedy's piano refrain becomes the pivot around which the track transforms. From there, ''Ode to Love'' moves into a more driving, heavily filtered melodic-house landscape, with synths gradually taking over while the piano remains its emotional thread.

For Love or Nothing, herself a classically trained musician, the record brings together two musical worlds that are often kept apart: the physicality and composition of classical music and the repetition, texture and movement of electronic dance music.

The title is deliberately simple. ''Ode to Love'' isn't an ode to a composer or a piece of classical history. It's an ode to love itself.

Five years after its first notes were exchanged, ''Ode to Love'' finally completes the circle.

ARTIST QUOTES:

Love Or Nothing: "Ode to Love is really a track of two halves, but the piano is the thread that holds the whole thing together. There isn't a vocal because it doesn't need one, Kennedy’s piano is the voice and really the star of the record. I love that we've finally brought it full circle.”

Kennedy Realness: “It has been a delight to collaborate with Love or Nothing on Ode To Love . The track is energetic, moving and envelops us in the ride that is Love.”
