E.R. Thorpe - Human Love / Red Dust (Generalisation Dub)
This is 'Human Love' by E.R. Thorpe… a gentle, fragile ballad with a dark twist.
The track is backed by Red Dust (Red Dub) another drawn out Generalisation Dub interpretation from label boss Damian Harris.
'Human Love' is the first single to be taken from her debut LP of the same name.
Scheduled for release in March 2026, on Vicious Charm the album has been produced by Jim Baron (Crazy P / JIM) - his first venture into producing for other artists.
Word of Emma’s work first reached Vicious Charm when they were beguiled by her participation in the collaborative trio, The Low Drift. Then they heard 'Guided By The Sea (Came Death)' back in 2023 and were smitten with Emma’s dark left field folk. They licensed the EP and gave the title track the Generalisation Dub treatment.
E.R. Thorpe is a singer-songwriter and visual artist whose haunting sound blends poetic storytelling with raw emotional depth. Raised in rural North Nottinghamshire by a blues guitarist father and a folk-inspired mother, she draws on a natural world rich with texture, memory, and meaning. Flecks of Aldous Harding, Patti Smith, Beth Orton and Mazzy Star run through her music but her voice is uniquely her own.
The album showcases the creative collaboration of Nottingham’s vibrant scene, featuring, as well as Baron, contributions from Huw Costin (Torn Sail), Kev Bales (Spiritualized), Matt Klose (Crazy P) and renowned jazz bassist Simon Paterson.
The release of the album will be accompanied by a tour of 8+ dates.
E.R. Thorpe - Human Love / Red Dust (Generalisation Red Dub) is released on the 1st of December via Vicious Charm Recordings.
