Lucas PIERRE - Resilience (incl. The Timeless (BE) and Elektrokid remixes) - Bonzai Progressive
Brussels-based DJ and producer Lucas Pierre returns to Bonzai Progressive with his latest gem, Resilience. Lucas began DJing in 1997, inspired by 80s New Wave and Electro Pop, and by 2001 was hosting national and international talents at Belgian hotspots like La Rocca and City Parade. His Club’In project became a launchpad for Belgium’s top DJs, paving the way for an international career with gigs in France, Spain and India, sharing stages with Robbie Rivera and Hernan Cattaneo. He also teamed up with Plastic Bertrand as part of PB&A and has released on top labels with appearances on compilations such as City Parade and ADE Amsterdam. We’re delighted to welcome him back.
We begin with the Original Mix of Resilience, a solid mover built on punchy kick drums, accented by shimmering shakers, crisp hi-hats, and sharp claps that cut cleanly through the mix. A warm, rolling bassline anchors the groove, while layers of ethereal pads and lush, euphoric melodies swell and evolve, creating a sense of uplift and motion. Subtle gentle vocal textures float in the background, adding an emotional, human touch to the atmospheric soundscape.
We welcome The Timeless (BE) aka Belgian artist Nicko Moyano to the label with a solid remix which marks his debut with us. Originally a duo with Divestorm, the project now continues under Nicko’s direction, following acclaimed releases on Awen Records, Deep House Belgium, Eclipse and more. On the remix here, we relive the emotive essence wit a more driving, punchier groove. Built around a powerful low-end and commanding kick, it layers in gritty, textured synths that add an edge to the atmosphere. Swelling pads rise and fall, amplifying the tension and release while raspy vocals weave through the groove, creating a highly charged slice that will not disappoint.
Elektrokid is next up on remix duties, delivering a fine slice as expected. Known for top club hits like Yeah, The Teacher and House In Play, Elektrokid boasts an extensive catalogue of productions and remixes for artists including Fedde Le Grand, John Dahlbäck and Benny Benassi among others. A master in the studio and behind the decks, he continues to shape the international scene with acclaimed releases and collaborations, cementing his place as a driving force in electronic music. Here, we’re treated to a smooth, slow-burning groove that unfolds with chunky kick drums and tight, rhythmic percussion driving the pulse forward. Warm, enveloping chords and soft, understated melodies set a hypnotic mood, while haunting vocal layers drift through the mix like distant echoes and anchored by a thick, low-end bassline that grooves effortlessly.
Rounding out the release, we have Lueur, delivering a vibrant and punchy groove that locks in with solid kick drums and sprightly percussion. Bright chords weave seamlessly with a deep, subby bassline, grounding the energy while keeping the floor moving. Cool, expressive vocals rise to the surface, taking command of the rhythm before gritty, electrifying synths propel the track forward. Layered arpeggios build in momentum, creating a rich, evolving soundscape.
