Habstrakt & Asdek – Won't You [Gotta Move Records]

Habstrakt and Asdek are wearing the colors from their home country proudly as they channel the spirit of French touch for their new single "Won't You," a nostalgic-laced garage single arriving by way of Insomniac's Gotta Move label.

France-born, LA-based producer Habstrakt is a bassline mastermind whose command over low-end frequencies comes second to none, he is a seasoned producer that helped create the mold for bass-driven house music. Fellow Frenchman Asdek is a Paris-based producer who has also existed on the bleeding edge of bass-heavy club music, crafting forward-thinking bangers across the house music spectrum. The compatriots are linking up for their new single via Insomniac's recently minted label.

"Won't You" is a funky, disco-flecked groove that nods to the glory days of filter house and French Touch, à la seminal acts like Daft Punk and Justice. It eases in filtered bassline licks and the sweet rhythmic chop of its stuttering LFO synths, while the track's soulful vocal belts start to spill over into a beefy UK garage-laden drop. They previously joined forces on their collab "Es Isso" collab in 2019 (2.6M streams). The release follows Habstrakt's recent outing on the label "Off My Head," which has racked up more than 93.7k streams in two weeks.
