NSG - OT Bop

Hot off the heels of their Gold Selling, Top Ten single Options, NSG; the 6 piece 2019 breakthrough group from Hackney, release their highly anticipated follow up single OT Bop.

Having teased the track for months online through social clips and teasers, the hunger for the track has spanned for weeks, creating hysteria among fans and online, even causing the track to trend on twitter pre-release! A heavy 4Play produced beat, mixed by JAE5 and with unforgettable and anthemic lyricism that NSG are so keenly known for, OT Bop comes to own the summer as an outstanding contribution!

With their outstanding track Options Featuring Tion Wayne shooting up and staying in the official charts for a staggering and record breaking 19 weeks, reaching a peak of #7, having clocked up over 13 million views on the video, and 54 million streams globally, NSG became the most exciting breakthrough act in 2019. After selling out their headline tour in March they are now appearing at Wireless Festival, Reading & Leeds, The Endz & more across the summer.

Appearing in The Sun, The Evening Standard, Buzzfeed, the Metro and more, NSG have self proclaimed themselves as the “African Boy Band” of the century.

It’s not a surprise that the world is ready to make OT Bop a success as Options came as no fluke, but only through years of hard graft alone, with millions of views on their previous videos, such as Yo Darlin - 27M views, Pushing Up - 7.1M views and featuring on the likes of Geko’s 6:30, now on 21M views.

OT Bop solidifies the group as the most exciting breakthrough act of 2019.

Comprised of members Kruddz, Mxjib, Mojo, OGD, Dope and Papii Abz, they’ve been bubbling on the underground music scene for the past 3 years under the moniker NSG before breaking through with their 2019 hit Options. representing many a name for the different members of the group, from ‘Never Stop Growing’, to ‘No Sleep Gang’ but with the majority agreeing ‘Never Stop Grinding’ is the overarching ethos.

All of the members came together while studying at Arts & Media School Islington. All of them that is except for Mojo, who they joke is “the one we found and looked after”. In fact they joke a lot, showing a brotherhood and group mentality they have nurtured through the love of music, “Individually we all have a love for music and dancing” Kruddz explained.

Soon after they had a designated meeting spot: a studio that had been set-up in OGD and Kruddz’s house (“It’s where the history started”). Though his mother would often be in the house, she preferred them being there than outside on the road and potentially getting into trouble. OGD – the producer behind NSG’s tracks – initially started out writing dubstep before becoming intertwined with the sound of producer Jae5, who is behind most of the biggest tracks from J Hus, eventually leading him to create the sound NSG have become known for.

Essentially, NSG are climbing slowly toward their peak. On their own journey but also one that’s closely connected to the afro bashment sound that’s creeping across the globe, the road ahead looks golden. Where do they want to go? “Global domination” they say. “ We’re not looking on a United Kingdom thing, we’re looking at a global thing.”
