Omar Santana & Caulon Haze - Insomniac [Basscon Records]

Omar Santana and Caulon Haze keep the momentum roaring with their new single "Insomniac," a masterfully crafted hardcore single slated for release on Basscon Records.

An underground pioneer in the truest sense, Queens-bred producer Omar Santana has remained a seminal figure of the American rave scene since the '90s, a cornerstone of the hardcore / gabber and breakbeat movement. Pennsylvania producer Caulon Haze has spent the last two decades paying his dues as a hard dance enthusiast in the NYC warehouse circuit, and has been hammering out a string of original tracks this year. The two frequent collaborators are connecting to release their new single for Basscon Records.

Aptly titled "Insomniac," the formidable pairing a rave devotional, staying true to the roots of Santana's tried and true hardhop form. MC vocal samples keep the momentum pushing along as ominous strings swells and slice-and-dice melodic leads are overlaid above a frenzy of thrashing, distorted bass pulses. Omar and Caulon have been on a tear together, releasing 8 co-produced singles thus far, including "Skull Breaker," "Brain Pain," "Cold Blooded," and on Omar's H2oh imprint.
