Thomas Newson, Simon Kidzoo - Mon Ami / Bahamas
** Radio Embargo Until July 26th / Club Play Only **
If you look up the etymology of the expression "in the groove" as I did just now, you will find that the term coincides with the arrival of jazz in the 1920's when musicians would bounce off each other without rules except to stay "in the groove" with each other.
When I listen to MON AMI, by THOMAS NEWSON and SIMON KIDZOO, if jazz hadn't existed, then I think we would have needed to make up an expression just like it to describe how in sync they were on this one.
MON AMI rolls in all the right ways.
Its' counterpart, BAHAMAS, keeps the groove locked but adds just a touch of poolside tropical flavours making it a sure fire way to create a vibe at the next pool party.
We're stoked for this collab.
Much love
