UK-based French-House outsider L'Étranger returns with I.M.B.A.L. which started life as a Bloghouse era Indie Dance remix.

L’Étranger is a pseudonym for UK based producer and songwriter Ben Thomas; his latest single I.M.B.A.L. started life in 2011 as an Indie Dance remix which quickly caught the attention of the blogosphere. The track has been revived for 2024 and reworked into a club friendly instrumental especially for streaming platforms, keeping the punchy drums and Bloghouse charm of the original intact.

In 2012 L’Etranger’s breakthrough single Falling For You saw BBC Radio 1 airplay, and in 2023 his single Let Go amassed 439k Spotify streams with For The Floor EP receiving support from Todd Edwards, Anna Lunoe, Joris Voorn, Marco Carola and Steve Lawler.

Through collaborations with the likes of Sedric Perry, Dreamtrak and Les Loups as well as official remixes for acts such as Polydor’s Guillemots, Mercury Prize nominee Sam Lee, and 4AD’s Stornoway, L’Etranger has garnered acclaim and recognition on music blogs and in magazines, solidifying his presence as a leading force in the nu-disco scene.

Ben is also known for his other projects Stink Floyd which saw him collaborate with Jersey Club icon DJ Jayhood. His chill moniker Memory Phoam has amassed 19 million streams across platforms, his monthly Isle of Lofi DJ mixes for Apple Music as Thomorrow, and UKG alias Tom Fool saw support from Jamz Supernova and Anna Lunoe.
