C-Zens & Halfzip - Fascination EP

Motive Records welcomes Sydney-based producers C-Zens & Halfzip for their collaborative debut, the Fascination EP. Born from shared creative energy and inspired by their European travels, this release is a celebration of old-school charm and feel-good rhythm.

Up first, the title EP ‘Fascination’ merges grooves and zapping stabs and deep driving baseline with a groove that playfully intertwines with soulful vocals and saxophone. Uplifting synth leads with rich percussive textures, creating a record that is the perfect vibe for both warmup and peak time sets. On the flip side, ‘Cascais’ offers a deeper exploration of house music’s timeless allure. Rooted in old-school guitar riffs and organs that immediately strike a chord. The track builds momentum with a punchy groovy bassline designed to make your feet move!

C-Zens, is a house producer and DJ that has started to gain some traction in the electronic music scene. His chord progressions and bouncy bass lines can be attributed to a combination of early 90s house influences and more contemporary electronic sounds. C-ZENS has worked to define his sound over the years, releasing records on a number of labels both internationally and domestically including Motive Records, La Vie D'Artiste Music and Random Soul Records.

HALFZIP brings a distinct style to the dance floor, drawing inspiration from legends like Masters at Work, Kerri Chandler, and Mele. Renowned for his edits and unique ability to blend afro-inspired percussion with driving house grooves, HALFZIP’s sound is energising. HALFZIP is part of Sydney’s largest house music agency ‘One Hit Agency’, which tours out Defected, ANTS and Glitterbox yearly in Australia, as well covering local clubs, events, and house collectives weekly.
