From the south of Germany, in Freiburg near the edge of the Black Forest, we proudly present Shigin. Boris is a free-spirited artist—untethered by trends and marked by a raw, exceptional originality. His diverse influences and socially conscious lyrics make this release one that excites us in a special way.
This release features two outstanding tracks: "Lost In Translation" and "Mariko", two masterpieces in which Boris writes and performs his own lyrics, using his voice as a narrative instrument. The result is an EP that will linger in the hearts of its listeners. In "Lost In Translation", Boris lays down a breakbeat foundation with dark overtones, telling a tragic story about miscommunication and the inability to truly connect. This passionate, nostalgic narrative is paired with a heavy-hitting drum line, intense atmospheres, and tearing synths that keep the listener on edge, like a suspenseful film.
In "Mariko", Boris takes a more dancefloor-driven approach. His modulated voice drives the groove, supported by metallic textures and a killer melody. This track is a high-energy, emotional journey through intensity and elevation. With great admiration, we present our 29th release. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did creating and sharing it.
