nilsix, Orjan Nilsen, and Mark Sixma – Blast from the Past [Dreamstate Records]

nilsix returns to Dreamstate Records to release their new single "Blast from the Past."

nilsix is the brainchild of two esteemed dance music virtuosos, Norwegian's Orjan Nilsen and Breda's Mark Sixma, applying their shared decades-long experience in the studio as a bridge for them to veer off into an array of adjacent peak-time genres scaled for the dancefloor. They are returning to Dreamstate Records with their sixth single since debuting the project on the label in 2023.

"Blast from the Past" harbors the main-room intensity of melodic techno, with its suspenseful sci-fi style vocal cues calling back to the big bang. The track's chugging drive is charged up by menacing rattling leads, rolling basslines and psy-infused atmospherics, peeling back it's peak-time power for a cosmic breakdown built around spacey synth lines that sweep through the space amidst twinkling textures and deep analog pads.
