Aweminus & Phiso – Spenk [Bassrush Records]

Aweminus and Phiso release their first collab in nearly a decade with their new single "Spenk," a filthy and wonky riddim creation arriving courtesy of Bassrush Records.

Based out of Las Vegas, Aweminus has built a reputation for bringing an out-of-the-box flavor to bass music, known for crafting a molotov cocktail of cerebral cortex-searing riddim engulfed in tireless experimentation and jaw-dropping sound design. Toronto-based producer Phiso is a stalwart of the dubstep scene, celebrated for his creative, complex and densely textured tearout and trench productions that always feel two steps ahead of the game.

The two artists are linking back up after 10 years since their last collab, serving up a new single for Bassrush Records. "Spenk" is a blistering chunk of riddim that has been causing a ruckus in their sets for years on end. The ID is finally being unleashed onto the world, constructed around a stank face-inducing groove whose squishy synth leads, fizzy 8-bit tones, inverted low-end fills, and wacky articulations show why the bass world has been clamouring for its release for nearly a decade.

From drawing massive crowds at major festival stages and sold-out concerts, to completely redefining bass culture on the West Coast, Bassrush has been at the forefront of bass music in North America since its inception in 2002. In recent years the brand has expanded its reach, grown its portfolio of national shows, launched a dedicated website (www.basssrush.com), and moved into new markets. In their mission to continually break new ground, Team Bassrush launched Bassrush Records, which will feature free releases from both established and up-and- coming talent in the drum n bass, dubstep, glitch, trap, and ever-evolving bass music genres.
