JIM - Keeps Me Warm

This is ‘Keeps Me Warm’… the second single from JIM’s - aka Jim Baron from Crazy P - second album. A beautiful, raw but tender piece of music with lopped guitar, electronic swirls and tapped out rhythms full of love and longing… Baron calls it “An ode to missing loved ones”.

The track opens his sophomore LP - The Curious Case of Existence - which will be released in September 2026 on Vicious Charm Recordings as double vinyl, digital & stream.

Label boss Damian Harris says, “Keeps Me Warm was the first new music we heard from JIM post Loves Make Magic. It’s not an exaggeration to say it kept us going through the struggles of running an independent label in 2025. We are immensely proud to share it with you.”

The album sees new vocal collaborators, from both ends of the spectrum. At one end, we have Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson, turning up on ‘Chalet Cafe’, with a typically loquacious offering, while at the other extreme, we have Edie Baron, James Baron’s teenage daughter, making her recording debut on the aforementioned ‘Love Over Gold’, on which she makes an indelibly mature addition.
He also recruited the usual Notts-based comrades, including Crazy P drummer Matt Klose, Simon Patterson (bass on ‘Windmills’) and buddies Torn Sail (Huw Costin, Henry Claude and John Thompson). Several tracks were overseen by veteran scene godfather Eddie Stevens (Moloko, Sia, Zero 7), who offered ideas, counselling and keyboards when it was most needed.

The Curious Case of Existence shows an evolution in Jim’s role as a singer, musician and producer. “As much as I love the first album, and I’m proud of it, it was an experiment in recreating a sound to see if I could do it,” offers JIM. “For this one I wanted to use the same palette but get a bit more of me in there and maybe consider some more modern-sounding production.” The album succeeds in moving us further down the road, without throwing out the magic that made the first album so compelling.
