Scooter - Groundhog Day (Original + Allen Watts Remix)
Groundhog Day! Scooter are back once again with a new single taken from their 20th studio album from Germany‘s most successful dance music act Scooter bears the title GOD SAVE THE RAVE – a timely reminder, one beat at a time, that raving must not be forgotten. It’s the kind of call to arms for which H.P. Baxxter is famous, and famously adept at getting the message across. Back in October, Scooter dropped a single with a definitive statement on the global state of affairs: “We don’t give a penny! FCK 2020”. An incredible 200 million streams have been generated across the seven songs available prior to the album’s release.
Scooter tick all the boxes we would expect of them as the undisputed titans of rave: they’ve grasped the exceptional circumstances of the age by the horns and have crafted one hit after another. The last day before lockdown, Scooter were completing their tour of Russia, having played sold-out arenas in Moscow and St. Petersburg. As soon as the amps were unplugged and the European stages fell silent, Scooter returned to Hamburg and locked themselves in the studio to concentrate on new tracks.
HP Baxxter: “We figured, let us make the most of this unique and unfathomable gift which allows to double down on our studio sessions and produce an album where every single track can be a hit. It was the first time since we started the band that we were able to devote ourselves to the production of an album without any distractions or interruptions, no festival gigs or tours.” First we save the rave! Then we save the world!“
More than ever, GOD SAVE THE RAVE rolls out superbly crafted hardcore tracks, arranged for maximum dynamic impact – an art form that Scooter have elevated to levels of perfection. The Hamburg-based trio have delivered a host of brand new piledrivers to accompany the single tracks already released. Waiting for the raves of the future is a lot more bearable with these tunes to listen to in the meantime.
It’s early 2021 and Scooter stand at the zenith of their career (so far). Studio album number 20 will further increase the impressive numbers board: 30 million records sold, 23 top ten hits, 180 gold and platinum awards, countless headliner slots at major festivals.
