Sambora - Let It Go (feat. Sharn Te Pou)

"Long time New Zealand producer and songwriter Sam Trevethick is not only the man behind Sambora, but also part of the D&B collective Shapeshifter and their side project The Peacekeepers.

Here donning his Sambora alias, Sam brings his house sounds to the fore, but with a subtle and eclectic appeal. When we first heard “Let It Go (feat. Sharn Te Pou)” at Vicious HQ we relentlessly chased Sam to sign it. It’s a special sounding, forward thinking tune… Part electronic, part deep house. It drops huge chords, a subtle shuffle and wonderfully musical keys which combined provide the atmosphere for the track. Top that off with a superb and distinctive vocal from Sharn Te Pou and you have a super classy tune that is perfect for 2024’s eclectic musical tastes.

As well as the original, we enlisted 8Bit records co-founder Gorge to team up with DÉ SAINT. on the remix. They bring their deep vibes to their remix, which slowly adds tension to the deep groove as it builds throughout the track, again featuring the full vocal from Sharn.

All round quality here that we’re super excited to be presenting on Vicious Recordings!"

Vicious was born in 1992 and has stood strong and steady as the dance music industry has gone from a vinyl led underground movement to a global, digitally distributed and streamed phenomenon. In that time there have literally been hundreds of releases on the labels, the original imprint founded in a back yard shed out of a passion for the music…

That passion which is still vibrant if you talk to co-founders John Course and Andy Van, or any of the people that help make the label tick.

You simply don't make it through the turbulent times of the music industry without your heart being in it…

Some of the most notable artists who began their careers at Vicious include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, multiple ARIA and IDMA winning group Madison Avenue and Sgt Slick
